I've placed a pre-press draft of my article "Supporting a Shared Dialog on Healthcare Policy between Researchers, Practitioners, and the Lay Public: Creating the SpeakHealth Online Community" online here. It was presented in the Information Technology Strategies in Health Care session of the 2011 HCI International Conference (HCII). Once the conference is complete, the paper will appear in the proceedings by Springer-Verlag. 6/10/2011
I was interviewed as part of a cover story on Web Cam Beginnings by Fox News Baltimore. The story aired several times on June 8th, 2011 and is availble for online viewing at the WBFF web page.

I received word that a chapter I coauthored with Alyson Young (UWO) and Anabel Quan-Haase (UWO) will be published in the Handbook of Research on Methods and Techniques for Studying Virtual Communities: Paradigms and Phenomena. The chapter is entitled: "Online multi-contextual analysis: (Re)connecting social network site users with their profiles"

My submission, "Supporting Reflective Thinking by Adolescents on Educational Issues in a Media-Rich Online Community" was accepted to the 2010 Biennial meeting of the Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA). This is my first publication with a student of mine (Maggie Patterson, Hood '10). This work will be presented as a poster in March in Philadelphia.

I just found out that my panel session "Get off my e-Lawn! Mulching Youth and Technology" has been accepted to the upcoming ACM Conference on Supporting Collaborative Work in Savannah, GA. Other panelists include Cliff Lampe (MSU), Sartia Yardi (GaTech), Fred Stutzman (UNC), and Amy Bruckman (GaTech).

I was honored to receive the Vinton G. Cerf Award for the best Student Authored paper at the DESRIST 2009 Conference. The paper, "Towards a Design Theory for Online Communities" is available in the ACM digital library.

Plan to attend, "Engaging Multidisciplinarity in Sociotechnical Internet Research: a hands-on workshop" at this year's Internet Research conference (AoIR 10). I'll be running this workshop with the help of my co-authors Ingbert Floyd, Miriam Sweeney, Caroline Haythornthwaite, Andre Brock, Steve Sawyer, and Sean Goggins.

for Research in Child Development's Biennial Meeting has been accepted. This poster, entitled, "Engaging Adolescents
in Discussions About Their Education Through an Internet-Based
Multimedia Community" will be presented this upcoming April
in Denver.

on Education Issues", of which I am a key team member. Come
